DYNAMOS coach Genesis Mangombe said his team was just unlucky not to have won this Castle Lager Premiership match at Sakubva yesterday.
And, it’s hard to argue otherwise.
How they failed to score, especially towards the end of the game when they had some fine chances, remains a mystery.
“It is a game of football, there are three results to it. We created chances but failed to score. We have been creating chances, and we only need to work on our finishing.
“We have been unlucky as a team but we have been playing well. There are goals we could have scored, but we were just unlucky.”
DeMbare have turned into draw specialists this season.
Manica Diamonds coach, Jairos Tapera, felt this was two points dropped than a point gained for his side.
“This is two points lost at home. It was an open game in which any of the two teams could have won. We just have to reorganise ourselves and move on to the next fixture with confidence.
“The three changes we made at the start of the second half helped us add momentum in our attack, but we were just unlucky not to score,” he said.
Both teams were guilty of missing clear-cut scoring opportunities.
Fortune Bhinzi missed the target by inches after snatching a loose ball and charging towards goal.
His shot at goal went wide of target in the 65th minute.
Mainca goalkeeper Godfrey Chitsumba made a spectacular save and kept his team in the game when he summoned all his reflexes to cut a dangerous cross from Valentine Kadonzvo in the 72nd minute when Emmanuel Paga was well positioned to connect.
Kadonzvo then had a superb turn-and-shoot which just drifted away from goal at the last moment.
