A THIEF broke into a hostel at Girls High School in the early hours of Wednesday and stole three cellphones.
The thief broke into Bait Hostel, through the main entrance door.
At about 4am, the teenage daughter of the caretaker, Shepherd Maunganidze, saw the thief and alerted her father.
The caretaker gave chase but the thief managed to escape.
When he returned, Maunganidze found out that three cellphones—an Itel A01, a Samsung S21, and a Samsung A14—had been stolen.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case.
“Police are investigating an unlawful entry and theft case at a school,” said Insp. Chakanza.
“The total value stolen is US$440 and nothing was recovered.”
