A HARARE man landed in the dock after he went on an unlawful entry spree terrorising employees at the Chikurubi Maximum Prison Complex.
Kudzanai Zemura, 34, was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.
The first complainant is Josephine Mudzamiri, who is a prison officer, and resides in the Chikurubi Maximum Prison Complex.
The court heard that on August 21, at around 9pm, Mudzamiri went to bed.
While she was asleep, Zemura broke into her house, through the kitchen door.
He stole a Vivo cellphone, and a school satchel, with textbooks.
Only the cellphone was recovered.
He also smashed the rear right quarter glass of Mudzamiri’s motor vehicle, a Nissan Bluebird Sylphy, registration numbers AEB 1495, and he stole a 628 car battery and two fuses, and went away with the property.
Zemura also broke into Martha Mangwiro’s residence in the complex, forced open the door of her motor vehicle, a Toyota Hiace, with registration numbers AFM 1723.
He stole a 12 volts, type 650 car battery and a car radio.
On the same night, Zemura also broke into Thomas Chiwire’s Toyota Land Cruiser, and he stole a car modulator, 8GB memory stick, cellphone charger with cable.
He also stole PSMAS cards, national identity card, ZPCS Service identity card, and a driver’s licence disk.
He also broke into Dazy Kadengu Shonhiwa’s house and stole a wheelbarrow, which he used to carry all the stolen belongings, in all the five counts.
