A MAN, who tormented the Darwendale community by allegedly stealing their goats ad chickens, has been arrested.

Jackson Milanzi (41), of Gretton Extension Farm, Darwendale, was nabbed on Tuesday last week. Police received information that Milanzi was selling goat meat in a bucket at Maryland Farm, Darwendale. They followed up on the information, leading to his arrest.

Mashonaland West Provincial Police spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kohwera, told H-Metro that police recovered goat ribs, the head, hide, four hooves and a wire snare allegedly used to catch the goat. Insp Kohwera said investigations established that the goat belonged to Emmanuel Nkurunzira (80) of Gretton Farm, Darwendale, and had been stolen from the grazing lands.

“Further interviews established that the suspect also stole eight broilers at Munhondo Primary School in July, 2026, and sold them at Muhacha Farm, Darwendale,” said Insp Kohwera. Farmers must avoid leaving their stock unattended at grazing lands as criminals are taking advantage to steal them.

“We continue to applaud members of the public for supplying information leading to the arrest of people involved in criminal activities.”
