THIEVES broke into the Cranborne Boys High School library on Sunday and stole a number of books.

A staff member Mabasa Madende noticed the break-in.

Police have confirmed an investigation is underway, but the value of the stolen text books is yet to be established.

Acting Harare provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Faith Mapisa, said the thieves used an unknown object to break the library lock and gain entry.

They and stole various text books and a 50kg AN fertiliser bag.

However, a resident who stays next to the school, blamed the school for lack of security due to the dilapidated state of the precast wall.

“The school has not been taking its security seriously.

“The precast wall is damaged and anyone can jump over it.

“Tinongoona vana vechikoro vachisvetuka kubuda nepesepese,” said the resident.
