This Christmas let’s remember all the blessings of the Lord

We are finally in arguably the best month of the year for most people around the world and the best times of the particular month, Christmas time.

Cities around the world have been buzzing with festive fever. What is common about this time of the year is the smiles, joy of family time and the bad decisions that come with it. Every single year, different people make bad choices that eat them up just a week later when we get into January.

For us Christians it’s a different story. Christmas is a commemoration of the birth of our Lord and God Jesus Christ. After all, we are called Christians because of him. The word Christian means, Christ-like. Christ stands as the glue that binds us to God regardless of race, gender or nationality. He is the reason we can claim the promises of God as far back as Abraham.

We are the fulfilment of the word of God that was spoken to Abraham. In short, you are a manifest prophecy.

Genesis 17:4-5

“As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.

In the book of Matthew, we read of the genealogy of Christ, he is a direct descendant of Abraham. We then are now children of God through Christ, if then we are related to Christ because we have one father, our God in Heaven. Therefore we are the children of Abraham. So because of Christ you have the right to claim the blessing of Abraham, of David or anything written in the Bible. It is your right.

Genesis 12:2-3

“I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

The birth of Christ assures you that you are divinely meant to exist, you are not a mistake. A lot of people believe they are a result of a bad decision. What they do not know is that, regardless of the events surrounding their birth, they are a divine plan of God. Nothing happens around a child of God that is a mistake. Your mother may have been raped for you to come into existence, but because of Christ, God has good plans for you. Hold your head high with an assurance that you are a citizen of Heaven and a member of the armies of the most high God.

You are a blessing. Never look down on yourself. The birth of Christ confirms your kingship both in the natural and in the spirit.

Matthew 2:1-2

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.

I always say, when you want something, first get hold of it in the spirit and in the natural it becomes very easy to get. As soon as Christ is born, other leaders come looking for him to welcome him. Much like when the president comes into a city, the city fathers go and meet him to greet him. Like many leaders or people in power, the three wise men highly likely did not travel alone. They most likely had a large group of people with them. Notice even in our day, leaders do not travel alone. If the president of any nation decides to come to Zimbabwe, he will likely bring a team of many people with him. His assistant, minister of the portfolio he is traveling for, personal security, a translator and many others. This was so with the three wise men. Because they were people in power, they had an entourage when they travelled. These people were so many that the city began to worry and wonder who this king who was born was to attract such a crowd.

Matthew 2:3-4

When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him. When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where Christ was to be born.

The King was so worried he held a meeting to try and find the young king causing traffic jams and food shortages in the city because of the high volumes of people that had come. Because Christ is a king, you too are a king. You are a king in your area of influence. If you are a businessperson, be a king in that area. If you are a teacher, be a king in teaching. Whatever happens, make sure you are not only a king in the spirit. Make sure you manifest it in the physical. Your presence must attract people of note just like Christ did.

Because of Christ, you too are watched over by the spirit of God. The three wise men that came to worship Jesus were warned in a dream by the Spirit of God not to go back to Herod.

Matthew 2:12

And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

The same happens to you. The Holy Spirit keeps a close watch over you. He makes sure that no harm comes to you. He even warns you like he did the three wise men. If you just listen, you can clearly hear him. You are no exception, the Lord loves you and takes hundred percent care of you. Presidents have body guards, did you know that you have an angel assigned to your protection. Paul said “angels are ministering spirit assigned to those who have been saved” so if you received Jesus, you too are under the protection of Heaven.

The birth of Christ forbids you from having a village mentality. You cannot be a village hero. You are to explore the world and the possibilities it holds. Just days after the Lord is born, he travels to Egypt.

Matthew 2:13

When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”

Many of us are confined to one place, no matter how hard it gets, we do not move, no matter how much the Lord speaks to you to move, you dig deeper foundations and stay. This a wrong. Don’t let fear of exploring stop you from reaching for you goals. Do all that is necessary and acceptable to the Lord to grow and expand your calling. Your are not permitted to be stagnant. Be on the move constantly. Stagnancy is demonic. You may lead two people today, but God expects growth.

This Christmas let’s remember all the blessings the Lord has made available to us because of Christ and celebrate Him.
