In the nation of Israel we discover a similar disastrous economic situation during the reign of King Ahab.
The condition was so bad that people were eating heads of donkeys, birds’ droppings and even one cannibal case where two women agreed to eat their babies! 2 Kings 6:25, 28-29. One of the women complained to the King, “This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow, So we boiled my son and did eat him, and I said unto her the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hid her son.”
Imagine how the King felt? This is how bad the situation was. Are you going through a rough time in your life?

God upon seeing the situation had mercy on his people and sent his servant, Elisha.
He came with one simple thing, an idea from the Lord, a revelation! He didn’t have something visible to the natural eye or tangible to the human mind but a spiritual revelation from God.
This year of the Lord’s favour, wind it up in divine ideas that will cause you to be a participator and not a spectator in life.
Attend church with others and do what others are doing in God’s house.
It may appear you are wasting business time by coming to church but that’s just the lie of the devil because he knows God uses the simple things to change people’s lives.
By coming to church and participating, you are positioning yourself for the ideas God has for your life.
Hear me friend, this I am telling you right now will change your life forever.
Be positioned for your revelation this December.
When Elisha came he declared the revelation to God’s people, “Hear ye the word of the Lord; thus saith the Lord, Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria” 2 Kings 7: 1.
In local terms it was close to saying 2kg sugar will be sold two cents tomorrow.
Hard as it is to believe, one thing we need to realise is that, a divine idea or revelation is not just man’s thinking and words, No, it’s source is God and when God opens a door no man can close it.
Here is the second key for you with regards to inspired ideas; when God gives them to you — believe.
Do not be like one of the Kings generals who was standing by the Kings side and being full of unbelief also declared, “Behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven might this thing be?” in other words he was saying even if God makes windows in heaven what Elisha said would not happen.
He made a mistake, he could have said with man it will not happen but not to say with God! God is able and God never, never, never fails.
Thirdly, (which is the area where many people lose it despite having received an inspired idea) is the area of ACTION.
Do not just hear something from God and do nothing about it, like all the people in Samaria who were just cited, yet a revelation had been declared.
When your job has been declared or prayed over, go ahead, prepare your CV and take it to companies!
When success and prosperity has been spoken over you through revelation, what’s next?
Don’t just sit and say I will prosper, the pastor said It and God said it!’ No.
Take action.
Do something.
Start a project, sell something, study the market, offer a service, open a shop — do something! God’s blessing comes on the works of our hands.
The whole city did nothing and could have died of hunger despite the revelation until four men, lepers for that matter, made a decision to step out despite the high risk!
Beloved, can I tell you something that God is saying to you write now? Step out! Don’t fear, go for it.
You can have it, you can achieve it, hallelujah! This is your year, 2015 is not yet over; you can have the desire of your heart!
