FRESH from the release of Tholukuthi (Here to stay) — rapper Mtha, real name Mthandazo Ngwenya, — has returned with a banger, this time in the form of Amapiano.
But he is not stopping there. On Friday, with his partner — MG (Mgcini Moyo) — he will drop another track.
It is not rocket science that the Amapiano genre has slowly, but surely gained ground and in the process, flipped the music industry on its head. The seed was planted in South Africa and contagiously, the fruit has been enjoyed even in our native land.
It is against this background that many artistes are flexing their creative muscles, fusing Amapiano with other genres to produce a new sound altogether.
Mtha is all about positivity and his new Amapiano track, Bambelela is sermonic in nature.
The fusion of RnB, laced with Amapiano and a little bit of hip-hop is set to draw a marker between guess work and pure, unbridled musical experience. The rapper has surely come of age now.
“Sometimes, you don’t need to be a bishop to give good advice to the millennials. In whatever predicament you may be going through, you need to keep the faith and hang in there since there is always a light at the end of the tunnel,” said Mtha.
The confident rapper makes a promise to everyone that, “as long as I breathe, expect good music.”
The groovy tune premièred on the 17th of September on YouTube and was produced by Jamal under the No Limits Entertainment stable.
September 24, will mark the dawn of a new genre, yet to be named as Mtha and MG, buoyed by the success of their sound, will drop the remix for the song Uyababa.
Konnect Records’ Collin remixed Uyababa and ensured that Mtha and MG solidified their track list with another jam.
Having previously released Skorokoro, Khuleka and Xolela, the duo is promising fireworks as fans, “should get their dancing shoes and tap in the name of love” for the remix.
Mtha, an artiste for five years now has gospel hip-hop chart topper Bathi Sibancane, Shooting Star, Baleka and D.O.D in his locker. – @eMKlass_49
