MORE than 15 000 worshippers gathered for a powerful night of praise and worship at the Relentless Worship Encounter 2025, held at UFIC in Chitungwiza.

The second edition of the annual worship event brought together believers from across Zimbabwe and abroad, all seeking a deeper spiritual experience through music and ministry.

Headlining the night were top local gospel musicians such as Worshiper Larry Gunda, Minister Michael Mahendere, Carol Nyakuba and Tapiwa Masara, who shared the stage with Nigerian artistes, Sunmisola and Ebuka Songs.

The artistes performed their hit songs, leaving the crowd clamouring for more, indeed they had a good day in the office.

The night was marked by high energy, moving songs and overwhelming emotion, as attendees sang, danced and wept during powerful renditions of gospel hits.

“This is my second time to perform at this event,” said Zimbabwean worshipper Larry Gunda. “I was so excited with the way the audience responded to my performance. I took my time to prepare my songs. We’ve been preparing for this since it was announced.”

Gunda said it was heartening to see so many people show up and he credited the support of Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa for making the event possible.

“I would like to thank Prophet E Makandiwa for the platform,” he said.

Nigerian worshipper Sunmisola, who also delivered an energetic performance, described the moment as unforgettable.

“It was such a nice experience to perform in front of such a big audience. I was excited to see the reaction of the people to my performance,” she said. “Keep worshipping the Lord because He’s coming soon.”

It was Ebuka Songs, known for hits like I Will Pray, who received thunderous applause as he took to the stage. This marked his first appearance in Zimbabwe and the reception left him speechless.

“I was filled with so much excitement and was overwhelmed by the audience,” said Ebuka in a post-performance interview. “People came to see us on stage. The response of the audience was so good, and when I performed ‘I Will Pray’, they reacted so well that I was so much overwhelmed.”

Ebuka, who flew in hours before his performance, had earlier expressed his hopes for miracles and spiritual breakthroughs at the event. “I bring Jesus to Zimbabwe but especially the grace of God,” he said in an earlier interview. “I’m only sent here by the Master and I can’t wait to see what is set to be done.”

For many in attendance, the night was unforgettable. “This is what I needed,” said Tafadzwa Mhaka, a fan from Glen View. “I came here burdened, but after singing along to I Will Pray, I felt something lift from my spirit. I cried.”

Another attendee, Ruth Nyamande, said it was her first time attending Relentless Worship. “It’s not just a concert. It’s an encounter. I didn’t know I would be this moved, but the way the worship leaders ministered tonight was truly divine.”

The event organisers described the night as a success. Security, sound and lighting were all up to standard, and the atmosphere was safe and family-friendly.

With growing attendance and overwhelming response, Relentless Worship Encounter is fast becoming one of Zimbabwe’s biggest gospel gatherings.

Plans are already underway for next year’s edition, with fans and worshippers already expressing their eagerness to attend again.

As the final song echoed through the packed auditorium, many lingered in worship, unwilling to leave the presence they had experienced. In the words of one attendee, “This wasn’t just a show. It was heaven touching earth.”
