A suspected electrical fault sparked a massive fire at a Willowvale Garage (Number 336) yesterday evening, destroying thousands of dollars worth of goods.

The blaze began around 10 pm.

The inferno ravaged brand-new truck tyres, compressors, refrigerators, a set of sofas and hardware containing various car spare parts.

Witnesses reported that people lifted parked vehicles to safety, as there were no keys available.

Some cars were partially burnt while others suffered broken windows due to intense heat.

Despite timely arrival, the fire brigade reportedly struggled to contain the flames which engulfed a hardware and furniture shop.
