THREE people were yesterday arrested for assaulting a woman and inserting their fingers in her private parts for allegedly stealing money.

In a statement, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the three are facing attempted murder charges.

“Police in Harare arrested Kumbirai Zengeya, 54, Tsitsi Sadomba, 44, and Timothy Zengeya, 23, in connection with a case of attempted murder in which they allegedly took turns to assault the victim,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.

“The victim was assaulted with iron bars, ropes and fists before burning her. She was accused of stealing US$500 belonging to one of the accused, Kumbirai Zengeya.

“Further, Kumbirai Zengeya allegedly forced the victim to drink an unknown substance before Tsitsi Sadomba inserted her fingers into the victim’s private parts,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.
