WHILE the Premier Soccer League has only seen one coach being given marching orders, four games into the season it is a different story in the Zifa Eastern Regions, three clubs have already shuffled their head coaches.
The three ambitious sides, Green Fuel, Masvingo Unted and Mutare City Rovers will have their technical benches headed by a new coach this week as they seek the title. Ambitious side, Green Fuel decided to part ways with Taku Shariwa after failing to collect maximum points in the first three games.
The Ethanol Boys managed a single point from three league matches following a 1-1 draw with Melfort and losing 1-0 and 2-0 to Tenax and new boys Chipinge Star. The club flexed their financial muscle during the preseason and brought in several players with Premiership experience to ensure they make it to the top flight this year.
Green Fuel also showed their intent of winning the league when they decided to invite PSL sides for their preseason preps with Caps United, Highlanders, Triangle and Herentals all playing the side.
Former PSL side who have also declared their intention to win the title have relieved their coach Shadreck Mugurasave of his duties after a sluggish start to the season. Chasten Ngongonga who was with Mutare City Rovers is reportedly headed for Green Fuel where he is said to have received a good offer.
The former Premiership side had been facing financial problems and Ngongona’s exit is set to put them in further turmoil with players also boycotting training earlier in the week.
