Three executives leave AMA

THE Agriculture and Marketing Authority (AMA) said three of its senior executives are leaving the Government agency following a restructuring exercise.

AMA regulates production, processing and marketing of agricultural products in Zimbabwe.

The agency said Mr Maxwell Chikanda, director of production and planting, Mr George Taibo, director of finance and administration and Ms Nancy Zitsanza director of marketing and economic research will be leaving the organisation with the immediate effect.

“Please, be advised that some positions have been affected the restructuring exercise,” said AMA chief executive Mr Clever Isaya, in a note to employees.

Efforts to get more details on the restructuring exercise were not successful as calls seeking comment from AMA chairman Mr Allan Majuru were not successful by the time of going to print.

On several occasions, AMA had been criticised for weak regulatory enforcement in cotton marketing, a development that resulted in massive side marketing of the commodity.
