In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the accident which happened at 2.40pm on Monday.
Three people died on the spot while 20 others were injured in a road traffic accident involving a small vehicle and a minibus in Mazowe on Monday afternoon.The crash occurred along the highway, drawing an immediate response from emergency services and the police.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation.
Of the injured passengers, 18 were admitted at Bindura Provincial Hospital where they are receiving treatment.
Two others, who were in critical condition, were transferred to Harare for specialised care.
