Three people killed in hit-and-run accidents

POLICE have launched a manhunt for motorists whose vehicles hit and killed three people in separate accidents over the weekend.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “The ZRP reiterates that motorists should stop, render assistance to victims if necessary and report all accidents to the police within 24 hours.
“This follows three fatal hit-and-run road traffic accidents which occurred on May 2, 2025 and May 3, 2025.”

The first incident occurred at the 102km peg along Harare-Mutare Road, Marondera, where an unknown motorist struck an 81-year-old woman and sped off.
The victim died on the spot.

On May 3, 2025, a 30-year-old man was hit by an unidentified motorist at the 384km peg along Harare-Bulawayo Road in Mbembesi.

The motorist did not stop after the accident and the victim died on the spot.
On the same date, a man was allegedly struck by an unidentified vehicle at the 254km peg along Harare-Mutare Road, near Penhalonga turn-off.

The victim died on the spot, but the motorist did not stop after the accident.
