A 20-year-old man from Mazowe was robbed and raped by three women from Harare.
The suspects—Diana Sibanda (35), Brendy Msipa (35), and Tabeth Harris (33)—faced court yesterday on charges of robbery and sexual assault. They will remain in custody until February 13 as the investigation continues.
According to prosecutor Anesu Chirenje, the incident occurred on January 25 when the victim was driving on Leopold Takawira Street. Sibanda allegedly forced open the passenger door, grabbed the gear lever, and stole the man’s Samsung Note 20 Ultra from the car.
Sibanda then threatened him with a screwdriver, forcing him to go to a nearby house. Once inside, Msipa and Harris joined in, undressing and raped the man.
The trio demanded money, and the victim handed over US$20. They then took him back to his car, stealing a power bank and phone charger. Finally, they forced him to hire a taxi to his home, where they received another US$80.
The situation changed when the victim spotted police nearby and called for help, leading to the women’s arrest and the recovery of his belongings. (Afrogazette)
