A RUWA man, suspected of killing a three-year-old, was arrested in Bikita last Thursday.
Ronald Moda (43) of Mabvazuva suburb in Ruwa, had been in hiding since last month.
He beat the minor to death for soiling herself when she wasn’t feeling well.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said Moda appeared before a Goromonzi magistrate on Friday and was remanded in custody.
“Police in Ruwa were investigating a case of murder in which a three-year-old minor died on September 7, 2022, at Mabvazuva, after she was beaten with a belt by her uncle,” said Insp Chakanza.
“The victim had allegedly messed herself up after falling ill.
“The suspect was reported to have fled the scene. “Police received information that he was spotted at his rural home leading to his arrest.
“He was led from Mashoko Police Station in Bikita to Ruwa and taken to court where he was remanded in custody.”
