ZIFA Bulawayo Province Division Three is set for a thriller this weekend with a top of the table clash between LG Vultures FC and Toronto FC.
Toronto FC are booming with youngsters mostly Under-23 players that play very exiting football. They have players such as Phathisani Msipha, Phindani Ngwenya and Mncedisi Gumede who was left out by Highlanders in the off season despite the fact that he had risen through their ranks. He was even recommended by Bosso juniors coach Dumaza Dube.
Toronto have for the past three seasons taken the dust grounds of Pumula East by storm under the tutelage of Ghetto Nkala and Sakheleni Nxumalo.
They top the table with 16 points but the team lacks sponsorship and this has frustrated promising players.
LG Foods sponsored outfit Vultures FC say they are ready to give Toronto a run for their money.
Meanwhile, LG Foods managing director Larrence Gwati said he was impressed by the level of talent being exhibited in Division Three.
“We have the next Peter Ndlovu and Benjamin Konjera out their, the boys are playing good football it’s a shame that they are going unnoticed. We are third on log standings but tied on points with the second placed team. Vultures FC are looking forward to collecting maximum points when we take on Toronto. It’s pointless to have Division One and Premier League rejects playing in Division Three, I hope Zifa will rationalise age limit so that we have a development structure. I am proud that this clash will be a battle of young and enthusiastic players,” said Gwati.
Vultures are coached by Collin Nyambiwa who has turned young boys such as Tawanda Zinaka, Twalumba Munenge, Adolf Muganyi to be a force to reckon with.
The team is tied on 15 points with Newcomers Nemangwe Stars of Gokwe. What is coming up is that there is so much untapped talent in the lower division due to lack of exposure.
Most promising players end up turning to other avenues for opportunities because football scouts have turned blind eye to developmental leagues such as Division Three.
