Time running out for Mahachi

JOHANNESBURG. — Time could be running out on Zimbabwe midfielder Kuda Mahachi as Sundowns are still waiting for communication for Monaco.
The Zimbabwean international underwent a two-week assessment with Radamel Falcao’s employers and almost a month after his return to the Brazilians, there is still no word from Monaco.

“We haven’t received the report from Monaco and that’s where we stand,” Downs communications co-ordinator Thulani Thuswa told KickOff.com.

“All we know is that they were very impressed with the player so we will hear from them,” he  adds.

Meanwhile, Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Clive Barker has praised his striking combination of Tendai Ndoro and Collins Mbesuma after a 1-1 draw in their first match.

“I was really impressed by Collins Mbesuma; he’ll get better and better. And Ndoro’s goal was magnificent,” the coach said .

Barker was pleased with his team’s overall performance and was happy with the point, though he points to an early miss in the second half by Eddie Ngalo which could have change the game.

“I thought we passed the ball very well, we kept it nicely, and as much as they had a lot of the chances, we had a lot of chances too. I think we had the best chance straight after half-time and had we gone two goals in front, we may have held on.”

Aces next face Kaizer Chiefs in midweek, hoping to avenge the 4-0 hammering they suffered against the Amakhosi in the MTN8 last week.

Zimbabwean twins Peter and Patrick Mubayiwa’s proposed move to Chippa United has hit a snag as they are still waiting for their permanent residence permits.

Permanent residence permits would allow the two midfielders to be registered as non-foreigners at Chippa.

The Mubayiwa twins have been in South Africa since the 2007-08 season and have only ever played for First Division club Witbank Spurs.

Themba Mafu, the boss at Spurs, confirmed that the two players’ transfer was subject to the issuing of their PR permits, which they have already applied for as they meet the requirements of having worked in the country for five  years.

“The twins would have moved to Chippa provided they got their permanent residence permits but since they are still waiting for those papers it means the deal cannot happen for now,” Mafu told KickOff.com.

The 29-year-olds will most likely continue their loyal service at Spurs unless their permit situation changes. — KickOff.
