Time to reflect on kidney disease

THE Ministry of Health and Child Care has said World Kidney Day will be commemorated under the theme ‘Kidney Health for All – Advancing Equitable Access to Care and Optimal Medication Practice’ on March 14.

The day will feature global events, health screenings and educational campaigns focused on the kidney.

The Ministry encouraged support for those with kidney disease through donations to kidney charities or sharing educational material.

The purpose of World Kidney Day is to raise awareness of the importance of kidneys to overall health and reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and related health problems worldwide.

People with kidney disease, on dialysis, wear the green ribbon to raise awareness about the condition.
