TIME TO ROCK AND ROLL

DYNAMOS forward, Nyasha Chintuli, wants to make an immediate impact and to put the smiles back on the faces of the club’s fans.

The Glamour Boys are set to get their season underway with a visit to PSL returnees Hwange at Barbourfields.  Ironically, he is back in the City of Kings, where he also scored a hatrick last season, on his league debut for Ngezi Platinum Stars.

Chintuli is expected to play a key role in ending an eight year silverware wait at the club.

He is on the long list of the team’s new arrivals.

And, the former Manica Diamonds forward said he is hoping for an explosive start.

“As an individual, I believe I have to score as many goals as possible to help the club.

“If the team doesn’t perform well, it’s always easy for people to point at the strikers and most of the time the fans are justified.

“It means I have to be on top of my game all season. I’m just hoping for a good start and we can’t afford to drop points in our first fixtures, those are crucial moments for us as strikers.”

Chintuli was one of the stand-out performers in the first round of the campaign last season. He banged in nine goals before the break but he then surprisingly lost his scoring touch after the restart.

He failed to find the target during the entire second half of the campaign and it cost him a slot in the league’s best XI players.

Chintuli said he is desperate to end his lengthy dry spell.

“It’s not right for a striker to go for that period without scoring and I wouldn’t want to continue like that here. It’s  a new season and I’m just hoping for the best and I can sense a better future,” he said.

Jayden Barake will have to wait for another day to don the blue-and-white jersey.

It was revealed he was not feeling well.

Chintuli will be in the queue for preference with Elie IIunga, Emmanuel Paga and Evans Katema all vying for places.
