Tin Tinas bad luck drama

When one is in the public spotlight, their struggles are celebrated and scrutinised as much as their successes.

The phrase, a?washing your dirty linen in publica? must have been crafted with celebrities and other public figures in mind because the most embarrassing details of their lives always tumble out at the most inopportune moments.

The prize one pays for the glitz and glamour of showbiz is constant public attention and scrutiny and this is worsened byA that celebrities always seem to have the proverbial fly on the wall waiting to spill their secrets to an always ever receptive public.

One local celebrity seems to have had more than her fair share of negative or bad publicity. Be it in love or just life in general, Tinopona a?Tin Tina? Katsande (ABOVE) just cannot seem to catch a break.

Tin Tin, a darling with Zimbabwean viewers and listeners ever since she shot to superstardom as the slender and elegant Joyce Huni on Studio 263, has stumbled from one scandal to another in the last few years.

Only a week after it was announced that Tin Tin might be returning to ZiFM after her unceremonious exit from the station a few years back, the public woke up to the news that the radio and TV personality was now locked in a bitter wrangle over her child with her a?husbanda? which saw her seek a peace order last week.

The man in Tin Tinas life Virimai Chigariro however, claimed in the Sunday Mail that the two were never married but the union was inspired by his desire to heal the staras broken reputation which would have worsened if it emerged that she had a child out of wedlock.

The picture Chigariro painted was far from the rosy portrait that the star painted when she posted about her new found love and happiness in the past year.

Tin Tinas men troubles did not start with Chigariro. She made headlines in 2013 as a victim of abuse from her then lover Brian Munjodzi.

The bubbly Tin Tin won the sympathies of the public, as she became the face of women that suffer emotional and physical abuse from men on a daily basis.

However, Tin Tin was to lose face and public sympathy not long after, as she got embroiled in a public scandal after she starred in a lewd sex tape that shocked the country.

While the likes of Pokello Nare seemingly bounced back from similar sexual scandals, Tin Tin was not as fortunate as others. She also lost her job at ZiFM at the time when she had cemented her spot as one of the most popular voices on national radio.

As if that was not enough, Tin Tin revealed in 2014 that she had failed to make the final round for the 2014 edition of Big Brother Africa after failing to find her passport.

The show, given what it did for Pokello and Roki, would arguably have gone some way in rehabilitating her torn public image.

a?I got a golden ticket to progress to stage two of the auditions. I had to return with my photos and passport for the next round. I kid you not before God and man I could not find my passport anywhere,a? she said at the time.

The much celebrated miraculous birth of her first child had seemed to suggest that there was a silver lining to the dark cloud that surrounded the star in the past few years after all.

But with her a?husbanda? disowning her, it seems the bad times are back for Tin Tin.
