TN Bank: You can’t mix business with pleasure

cannot mix business with pleasure!

When Joyous Celebration, a South African gospel choir took to the stage at the launch of TN Bank Malls over the weekend they simply made their presence felt with a top of the drawer performance that they are known for.

However, the concert could have been better had fans paid their way in at the gates without having to wait for long hours in queues as the promoters of the concert TN Bank went through their tedious TN Cash Card promotion.

The venue of the gig, the Harare International Conference Centre, took time to fill up as TN Bank staff took their time to admit fans who had turned up in their numbers.

To attend the gig, the fans were asked to have TN Cash Cards first which they would use to buy food and tickets but the process was painstakingly slow. However, while TN Bank had wanted to do business at the launch not many show goers were interested in their business as they had come to party.

But on the whole, the show lived up to its billing and arguably it turned out to be one of the biggest gospel music concerts so far this year.
First on stage was upcoming gospel musician simply called Tafadzwa Sadindi who proved that the future is bright for him if he takes his career seriously.

Some people in the audience nicknamed him the “Progress Chipfumo” of gospel music through his deliverance that reminded many of the Afro-rock artiste.

Next on stage was youthful but vibrant singer Sabastian Magacha. The energetic singer and his group played two songs on their first set and later returned to dish out what was probably one of the polished acts of the night.

People were touched by his song “Handikusiye” in which he featured a young girl who recited verses from the Bible in a very touching and heart-rending way. Saba reminded people about the value and importance of children in society.

Clad in a white suit and holding a blue handkerchief, a fired-up Saba urged TN Bank to consider setting up a facility that looks into the needs of children while at the same time reminding adults not to abuse children who are the future.

But it was TN Choir that shocked many with their well-choreographed act, considering that they are not professional musicians but just bank employees.
Led by one of their members who is disabled and uses crutches, the outfit delivered one of the best performances of the night.

With the versatile artiste, Misheck Mahendere as their music director, no wonder the choir put up a good show.
Amos Mahendere and his Mahendere Brothers outfit were in fine form and dished out some of their best hits like “Psalms 23” and “Zvirevo”, among others.

The highlight of their act was when South African Diva Buhle joined Mahendere on stage and together they took revellers down memory lane to the days of “Nguva Yakwana” when she sang the song “Handidzokere Shure”.

Songtress Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, who recently gave birth to a baby boy, was at her usual best.
Sipho Makhabane also did justice at the gig with a fine act while the Charambas were unfazed.

The show was held under the theme “Celebrating the Successes of the Year”.
It was aimed at celebrating the successes that TN Bank made in the previous years.
