Zimbabwe’s tobacco exports fell by 7,2 percent in the first 10 months of 2025 to US$921 million from US$992,6 million in the same period last year, driven by a sharp decline in demand in the Far East market.

Exports to the Far East, dominated by China, plummeted by 30 percent to US$457 million from US$652 million, according to the latest figures from the Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board.

The Middle East market also registered a decrease, with exports falling by 14,6 percent, down to US$80 million from US$93,7 million recorded in 2024.

Africa registered strong growth, with exports increasing by over 59,9 percent to US$146 million, up from US$91,3 million last year.
