Zimdancehall artiste, Tocky Vibes’ (real name Obey Makamure) performing skills will be put to test when he stages a show at Royal Hotel Gardens in Bulawayo tonight. The artiste known for his lyrical ingenuity confirmed by his uplifting tunes such as Mhai and the recent Toti toti, has been failing to make the grade on stage. He has in the past been pelted by revellers after failing to meet their expectations.

While critics have suggested that Tocky needs to take a leaf from his more illustrious brothers such as Winky D, Shinsoman and Ricky Fire who have stage presence, Tocky’s manager, Elvis Bokosha, believes his artiste is work in progress.

“We’re trying to better the standards of his performance. I want to assure fans that they’re going to see an improvement when Tocky takes to the stage. We hope what we’ve in store is up to their standard,” said Bokosha.

He said the artiste would perform with a live band to give fans real value for their money.

“I believe that using CDs is somewhat swindling fans of their hard earned money, that’s why we’re having a live band,” said Bokosha.
