Titled Ndlovini, the track which features Metallic Boyz, pays tribute to the former Warriors captain whose exploits on the football field made him one of Zimbabwe’s most celebrated sporting figures.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers the country has ever produced, Ndlovu’s illustrious career inspired the young artiste to immortalise his achievements through music.
Tojey Blox, whose music often celebrates inspirational figures, said the song is more than a tribute.
“Please guys help me push the song until it reaches Peter Ndlovu. This joint is a celebration of perseverance, excellence and national pride. Ndlovu’s influence on our generations is impactful, as I personally grew up wishing to be like him,” said Tojey Blox.
Peter Ndlovu had a remarkable journey from Zimbabwe to the English Premier League, where he became the first Zimbabwean footballer to play in England’s top flight.
Known affectionately as the “Bulawayo Bullet,” Ndlovu enjoyed a stellar career with clubs such as Coventry City F.C. and later represented the Zimbabwe national team with distinction, becoming its all-time leading goalscorer.
