ARMY side, Tongogara could be docked three points by the Zifa Central Soccer League for using a suspended player during their match against Gweru City over the weekend.
Tongogara won 4-0.
The player at the centre of the dispute is Simbarashe Denya who accumulated three yellow cards in matches against Chomumvuri Pirates, Chrome Stars and Gweru City.
The Central Region board member responsible for administration, Stanley Chapeta said the board was attending to the matter.
“I received correspondence to the effect that Tongogara used a player who was on suspension and if confirmed we will take appropriate action,” he said.
According to the region’s rules and regulations, any team which uses an ineligible player is docked three points which are then awarded to their opponents.
Gweru City secretary, Malvern Paradza said the club wrote to the league management over the issue and were awaiting their response.
He said: “We raised the issue with the match commissioner during the match against Tongogara whom we handed over our complaint.
“We have since written to the league management committee and we are now awaiting their response.”
According to the latest log standings, Tongogara are now fifth, seven points adrift of log leaders Whawha who lead the standings with 32 points from 14 matches.
