AMERICAN R&B musician, Toni Braxton, who has been in Zimbabwe for the past three days, seems to be keeping to herself. The artiste, who arrived in Harare on Monday evening for a performance at Borrowdale Racecourse tomorrow, has not a made a public appearance in the country, other than her arrival at Harare International Airport, leaving some speculating if she is still in the country.
Upon arrival, the musician, who was accompanied by her two sisters, Towanda and Trina, told her over 1,5million followers that she had landed in Zimbabwe: “Hello Zimbabwe”. From there she introduced a hashtag, #TellToni in which she asked followers to ask her anything.
One follower asked: ‘Toni are you really in Zimbabwe?’ to which she responded ‘I am!’
Later on Tuesday, she posted that she was enjoying her meal at Nandos, of which some local followers advised her to sample some of Zimbabwe’s traditional food.
Yesterday, the star posted an aerial view of Harare saying she was enjoying her stay here: “Loving Zimbabwe.”
Questioned when Braxton, who is rumoured to be staying at the Meikles Hotel, would leave her room to experience the country’s rich climatic, natural and man-made attractions as well as the peaceful environment, one of the organisers said she was tired.
Meanwhile, Braxton’s musical husband, Babyface, is expected in Harare tonight. The two will perform together tomorrow before flying out to Durban for a series of shows in South Africa. Tickets to their shows are said to be selling like hot cakes.
