Top cop dies

Police Protection Unit spokesperson, Inspector Martin Mbokochena confirmed the death.
“He fell ill after he reported at work at 7.30am and he was first rushed to Morris Depot camp hospital and was transferred to Parirenyatwa Hospital.
“He was sweating and having difficulties in breathing. Unfortunately he could not make it as he was pronounced dead soon after admission in hospital,” he said.
Insp Mbokochena described Supt Kwembeya as a hardworking and dedicated cadre who exhibited exceptional loyalty to the State as a commander.
Born on March 15 1958 in Marange, Bocha, Superintendent Kwembeya joined the liberation struggle in 1976 and was trained in Chimoio, Mozambique.
After independence he joined the ZRP in 1980.
He is survived by his wife Sirina Mudzere and four children.
Burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
