Local musicians Soul Jah Love, Stunner, Trevor Dongo and Sabastian Magacha are set to perform at this year fashion show to be hosted by JanJam Men’s Wear shop next weekend.

The musicians will be supported by renowned disc jockeys from Judgement Yard as well as Nivek and Ash Styles.

The fashion show will coincide with the shop’s fifth anniversary with celebrations being held at Maestro Restaurant – Glass House.

The event which is being planned by VIP Hosting will also see top local models, fashionistas and designers attending.

Speaking at a press conference JanJam fashion stylist and consultant show producer Haleema Mekani said preparations are at an advanced stage for the executive celebrations.

“I am happy that the preparations are going as planned. The event will see a fashion show for men, displaying the shop’s latest wear and accessories. It is going to be a platform for men who will show their inner self with regards to fashion. The venue has been chosen for its nature and season,” she said.

Mekani said the event is a red carpet and guests should be dressed for the occasion.

“We want men to embrace fashion although it is difficult for them to watch other men on the ramp. We have stylists who will help the guests, giving lessons on how to dress well. I encourage all the guests to come dressed in smart casual and strictly in shirts. We have camera people who will be interviewing the guests on red carpet with some photoshoots also,” she said.

She said South African-based Ngugi Vere is expected to launch his new collection on the same night.

“Vere is well known for his Shona Ankra label which has caused a stir regionally. He will unveil the new-look men’s jacket and coat on the night and the items will also be in store,” she said.

JanJam Men’s Wear founder Cynthia Bizure Sithole said she was happy with the event.

“Our business is turning five and we chose to celebrate with fans, customers and celebrities. It is a night to remember and we have a lot of surprises on the day with a celebrity guest appearance,” she said.

Sithole later explained why she chose to specialise in men’s fashion. “Men don’t take time when it comes to selecting clothes. I chose to work with men because they know what they want. I am not saying women don’t but generally, they spend more time to decide what they want,” she said.
