EPWORTH High will be a hive of activity when they host the Harare Province Independence Cup soccer tournament on Friday.
The tournament, which has the blessings of the Sports Commission, will see Harare Province Division Two A and B log leaders Scottland Academy and Dreamers Academy locking horns.
Harare Province Division Two chairman Robert Tembo said they are happy to be part of the Independent celebrations and believes as they seek to promote grassroots soccer.
“We are grateful that we have been invited by the Sports Commission to take part in the Harare Province Independence Cup Celebrations.
“We have decided to take our top two teams in the two divisions which, are Scotland Academy and Dreamers Academy.
We are grateful to the sports commission as they are supporting ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi mantra of involving everyone. It will be the first time that we have such a tournament and it is going to go a long way in supporting grassroots soccer.
‘We are hopeful that the two sides will provides high levels of competition,” said Tembo.
Harare Province Division Two A and B Leagues are now in week three with teams battling it out for the sole ticket to get promotion in the Division One League at the end of the season.
