GOLFERS from across Zimbabwe will converge on Bulawayo later this month for the much-anticipated Harry Allen Classic, scheduled for November 22 and 23 at the Harry Allen Golf Club.

The tournament, sanctioned by the Zimbabwe Golf Association (ZGA) and accredited by the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), is one of the final fixtures on the 2025 local circuit and is expected to attract top amateur talent. Registration closes at 5pm on November 20.

Both male and female golfers affiliated with the ZGA, the Zimbabwe Ladies Golf union (ZLGU), and the HNA are eligible to enter, while international amateurs are also welcome to compete.

Those who register and pay the entry fee will be granted a courtesy practice round on the eve of the tournament.

The championship will follow a stroke play format. The men’s and women’s divisions will each contest 36 holes on the opening day and 18 on the final day.

In the Nett Division, all players will complete 18 holes per day. Men in the Championship Division will tee off from the white markers, while women will use the red markers over a total of 54 holes.

To determine the overall gross winner, a sudden-death playoff will be held on the 18th hole in the event of a tie. Other positions will be decided using a countback system.

Winners in both the men’s and women’s Championship Divisions will receive a floating trophy and a jacket. Prizes for the Nett Division will be announced by the tournament committee.

The Harry Allen Classic is the penultimate event on the ZGA calendar, preceding the Platinum Classic at Norton Golf Club from 29 to 30 November, which will conclude the 2025 season.

The season began in January with the traditional Dugmore and Fellowship tournament at Bulawayo Golf Club.
