adminthe organisers, this year’s conference will focus on issues relating to the target of reaching a US$100 billion economy for Zimbabwe by 2040, creating a culture of courage and the new leadership challenge, and measuring ethical environment of organisations among other key issues.
The conference will also look at developing integrating strategies to fight fraud and corruption in Zimbabwe.
IIA chief executive officer Mr Roy Bvekerwa said about 300 delegates were expected.
“Internal auditing has a danger of being narrow and it should stretch its boundaries. Auditors should look at governance issues and we hope to equip our internal auditors so that they really grow and add value in their organisations. They should also look at internal controls to mitigate risks, that is, having a focus on risk reviews.”
State Enterprises and Parastatals Minister Gorden Moyo will officially open the conference.
Chief executive officer for IIA South Africa Dr Claudette Von Ec will be the guest speaker .
Other speakers include the Head of the Internal Audit for the World Trade Organisation in Geneva, Switzerland, Ms Margret Kireeta-Mwanja; founder and group CEO of KM Financial Solutions Mr Kenias Mafukidze; commissioner in the Anti-Corruption Commission Dr Goodwill Shana; Spiritage Group chief executive Mr Zack Wazara; former Rainbow Tourism Group chief executive Ms Chipo Mtasa; CBZ Holdings chairman Mr Luxon Zembe; and Seed Co group chief executive Mr Morgan Nzvere.
The IIA conference will come after the IIA global chairman Mr Phil Tarling’s scheduled visit to Zimbabwe this week.
