ASPIRING local author and graphic designer Tawanda Toperesu has launched a new book titled “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”, which chronicles his life experiences and how he succeeded against all odds.

The new book has eight chapters.

In total, Tawanda has four books to his name.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail Society, Toperesu said the book seeks to assure people that hard times will never kill but will instil endurance and perseverance in people.

“My book is an inspirational one, with insights from my life experiences.

“It speaks to everyone who is going through a difficult time and doesn’t know how to deal with his or her emotions. It then reassures one that hard times are there but they never kill, and there is no winter that lasts forever,” he said.

Toperesu said the book encourages people to work hard so that they can realise their goals.

“Follow the footsteps, upsets and triumphs in a story that took me to the other side of the world.

“I have presented my thoughts on building generational wealth and rising from the ashes of despair to being a hope, as well as being an example for other authors,” he said.

The book can also be a panacea to those who are depressed with life, as it gives hope and confidence to those who feel downtrodden.

“The book helps all those who are depressed to understand that in this world, there are times of depression, but times of happiness will come,” he said.

Tawanda, who is pursuing a course as an electrical engineer at the Masvingo Polytechnic, went down memory lane to the early days when he started book writing.

He recounts the challenges he encountered, which included discouragement from some of his friends and relatives.

“I started writing when I was 16 years old, and during those days, I was mostly discouraged by my friends and relatives, but I never gave up.

“So, in this book, I want to teach people that in life, you can be discouraged but you should never give up,” he said.
