Tough test for Scottish giants Rangers

London. — Liverpool and Rangers will meet in the Champions League group stage, while Manchester City’s Erling Haaland is set to face his old club Borussia Dortmund.

Scottish champions Celtic are in the same group as holders Real Madrid and Chelsea face AC Milan.

Eintracht Frankfurt, who are making their group stage debut, are in the same group as Tottenham.

Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Inter Milan have been drawn in the same group.

Matches will take place between 6 September and 2 November.

This season’s Champions League final will take place at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey, on 10 June 2023.

We’ll be bringing you live updates of the draw as it happens, with Premier League clubs Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City set to discover their opponents for the group stages.

Chelsea will be hoping to improve on their quarter-final knockout from last season against eventual winners Real Madrid, while Tottenham will be targeting a real assault on the trophy after a year in the Europa Conference League, with Antonio Conte eyeing a first-ever winner’s medal as a manager.

They will face some of Europe’s top teams, and could be drawn against British clubs in the form of Celtic and Rangers, who are both in the hat for the group stage.

Elsewhere, Liverpool will be hoping to go one better this year after their defeat in the final against Real Madrid, while Pep Guardiola will want his Man City side to finally get their first Champions League trophy – with hopes high that Erling Haaland can fire them to victory.
