THE Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) commemorations are being held simultaneously across the country on Tuesday, with the main celebrations taking place in Harare and similar events being held in all provinces to honour the country’s military personnel and celebrate their contribution to national development.

In Matabeleland North, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Cde Richard Moyo is leading the commemorations at Somhlolo Stadium, where hundreds of people have gathered for the colourful event.
The provincial commemorations are running concurrently with the main event in Harare, where President Mnangagwa is presiding over the national celebrations.

As part of the programme, Cde Moyo is delivering the President’s speech to the gathering in Matabeleland North, ensuring that the national message is shared with communities across the province at the same time it is being delivered at the main commemorations.
The Somhlolo Stadium event has attracted hundreds of people, with the gathering characterised by a vibrant atmosphere as residents, traditional leaders, Government officials, service chiefs, veterans and other stakeholders come together to mark the occasion.
In Matabeleland North, the festive mood at Somhlolo Stadium has been heightened by music, performances and the large turnout, with the crowd following proceedings as the President’s message is delivered by Cde Moyo.
