He reportedly kidnapped the woman at around 8pm and only released her the following morning around 4am.
Zenda now faces rape charges.
He denied the charges when he appeared before regional magistrate Mrs Sandra Mupindu who remanded him in custody to tomorrow for trial.
He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Mr Michael Reza alleges that on May 21 at around 8pm the woman disembarked from a kombi and walked for a short distance before Zenda followed and caught up with her.
He grabbed her from behind and threatened to kill her if she did not comply with his orders.
Zenda, it is alleged, dragged the woman into a maize and sugarcane field.
The woman screamed, but no one heard her.
He then raped her once without using protection.
It is the State’s case that the woman thinking that she would be released, asked Zenda for permission to go and look for some food as she was hungry but he refused to release her.
It is further alleged that Zenda raped her five more times.
Zenda, the court heard, left the scene around 4am.
He ordered the woman not to follow him. She, however, secretly followed him from a distance until he stopped at Highfield bus terminus.
The woman rushed to Machipisa Police Station where she reported the matter and Zenda was arrested the same day at the terminus. The woman was referred to Parirenyatwa Hospital for medical examination.
