Tout steals from blind man

A 26-year-old Zvishavane-based tout appeared in court facing charges of stealing from a visually impaired man at night.

Maxwell Mazambania��s mischief landed him in court. He appeared before Zvishavane Magistrate, Storey Rushambwa for allegedlyA� stealing clothes and $80.

Prosecutor Monica Mungwena told the court that on 12 November after midnight the complainant John Moyo (45) was sleeping at Mandava Bus Terminus in possession of a bag containing clothes, a cell phone, plates and $80.

He went to relieve himself but returned to find his bag missing.

However, his guide-person, a nephew, Pride Shumba saw Mazambani in action but was afraid to shout fearing an attack.

The following morning, Mazambani was caught by fellow touts in a broken bus at the garages where he was hiding.

He was remanded in custody to November 18 for trial.
