THE stage is set for the Bulawayo Amateur Football Association (Bafa) administered Townsend and Butcher Cup final between former champions Rebels and Laduma set for tomorrow at Barbourfields Stadium.
Magwegwe North’s Laduma who are in their first ever final have declared war on the former champions who hail from Barbourfields and will play before a home crowd.
Laduma coach Dominick Sibanda said his side which is in its maiden Bafa season is ready to upset 2013 champions.
“Our ultimate goal is to lift the trophy and make history because this is our first time in the BAFA league.
“The possibility of writing our own piece of history is pushing us to win this final. We have been preparing hard for this day and we are ready for the challenge,” said Sibanda.
He said his side was not under pressure to perform and had therefore instructed his players to enjoy the game.
Sibanda said his troops will go into the field with their tails up following a 13-0 win over Dynamic Diesel last week in their league clash.
“The team is in high spirits following our last week’s win over Dynamic Diesel. We put in a lot of work to be in the final and having come this far, it will be hurting to lose against Rebels,” said Sibanda.
Rebels lost 1-3 to FBC Falcons last week and this could work against them.
A brace from Elvis Charambuka and a goal from Wisper Mujokoro handed Falcons the much deserved win.
Rebels who had set a BAFA record with their impressive run, got their solitary goal from Philani Mlotshwa.
Meanwhile, Woodlands Warriors will curtain raise the final against United FC at 9AM. — @khumzallen.
