Toya delivers polished act

South AFRICAN songbird Latoya Buthelezi, popularly known as Toya Delazy, gave a top drawer performance on Saturday night at the Harare International Festival of the Arts.
Hundreds of multi-racial fans thronged the Telecel Main Stage to be entertained by the diva.
Some of the songs she belted out include “With You”, “Love is in the Air”, “Are You Gonna Stay” and “Pump it On” among others which the audience danced along to.

Toya is both a singer and a pianist and her performance ranges from delicate soul love songs to upbeat rocking dance tunes, which many audiences are familiar.
Her music has been called a mixture of jazz, electro, and hip-hop with a healthy South African Flavour.

Toya’s fame rocketed from her first mega-hit “Pump it On.
She signed a recording deal with Sony Music Africa in 2011.

She came to Hifa after having been nominated for Music Video of the Year for her song “Memoriam” at this year’s Sama awards.
The show was presented by Coca-Cola in association with the South African Embassy and HIVOS. At same stage on Saturday, German reggae band Jamaram delivered a polished act. The group is known to be the gig monsters in gearing up excitement in clubs all over the world and performed again last year at the same festival.

They have performed many shows across the world and have toured more than 20 countries.
They have eight studio albums and a live DVD under their belt.
