A 37-year-old man believed to be a traditional healer has appeared in court for allegedly assaulting and raping his friend’s girlfriend.
Dumisani Ndlovu of Phoenix area under Chief Chizungu in Mberengwa briefly appeared before Gwanda magistrate Ms Sheila Nazombe to answer to charges of assault and four counts of raping his friend’s 27-year-old girlfriend.

He was not asked to plead but was advised to apply for bail to the High Court after being remanded in custody to 7 October.
Allegations by the State are that on 17 September at about 7pm, the complainant slept in a plastic tent near Mount Cazalet mountain in

Gwanda Town together with her boyfriend.
The plastic tent is used as shelter by Ndlovu.

The following day at about 5am, Ndlovu went to the plastic tent where the complainant was sleeping with her boyfriend.
Ndlovu is said to have ordered his friend to go to Gwanda Town to  work and then went away.

The complainant’s boyfriend left  his girlfriend in the plastic tent.
At about 8am, Ndlovu allegedly returned to the plastic tent and found the complainant alone.

It is further alleged that Ndlovu asked the complainant to accompany him to a nearby mine.
While on the way to the mine, Ndlovu allegedly struck the woman  with a stick several times all over the body demanding to know why she slept with another man instead of him.

At about 10.30am, Ndlovu allegedly forced the complainant to lie down and he removed her undergarments and raped her.
He then allegedly then raped her again at 11am, 11.30am and 12 noon.

After that Ndlovu allegedly went away.
The complainant reported the matter to the police who then attended to the scene.

Ndlovu was later arrested.
