tradition at the festival, the IRB educators are happy that this is the first time that the course is being held on a public holiday and they believe they are going to have a huge turn-up.

The course is usually conducted by the duo of Godwin “Jaws” Murambiwa and Brighton Chivandire and the former said the COTTOCO festival was a good platform to conduct the Level One course as it has become a huge rugby fiesta.

“The course starts at 9am and it is basically an introduction to rugby for those coaches who are just beginning to take interest in coaching the game. It prepares the coaches or prospective coaches to go through the system with basic guidelines to the game.

As educators we take these coaches through such basics as taking a conversion or a kicking penalty, the marking and meanings of the markings on the field, passing and tackling and the syllabus content is from the IRB,” said Murambiwa.
A huge turn out is expected at the clinic as the number of schools taking part at the festival has also has also increased.
