TRANSIT Crew’s lead vocalist, Cello Culture, will celebrate his 33rd birthday on Saturday at Msanzi Meats in Bluffhill.
The talented vocalist, who traded his soccer boots for the microphone, has urged young people to desist from drugs in his birthday message.
Cello Culture, who has been in the game for over a decade, sees God’s grace as he celebrates the gift of life.
“To think that I am now 33 years old makes me feel God’s grace and favour.
“Of course, God has been on my side but I always try to lead a clean life. I have never tasted alcohol in my life. I don’t smoke any cigarettes which has seen me living a healthy lifestyle.
“I would like to use my influence to convince others to desist from taking drugs. Drugs have destroyed many lives while addiction is hard to leave,” he said.
Backed by seasoned instrumentalists including Isaac Chirwa, Pablo Master, Pablo Nakappa, the chanter wants to leave an impression in showbiz.
“Like any other artist with a clear vision and focus, I would like to be remembered as a person who changed people’s lives.
“I would like to be known as a person who sings music with substance.
“I will celebrate all this on Saturday with my fans in Bluffhill.
“By the way, it’s going to be a free show to those who want to come and enjoy themselves with us.”
Cello Culture, who has been with the group for years, says he is in safe hands.
“Transit Crew is one of the tried and tested groups in Zimbabwe and I can’t ask for more than being their lead vocalist.
“I enjoy working with the elders because it’s purely serious business with the elders who keep giving me strength,” he said.
