Transport Minister on first highway tour

Victor Maphosa in Masvingo
Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister Felix Mhona said he is happy with the progress so far on road works along the Harare-Masvingo-Beitbridge highway.

Minister Mhona made the comments this afternoon while touring the highway which is currently undergoing rehabilitation and expansion.

This is his first tour of the highway since he assumed office this year.

The purpose of the visit is to have an appreciation of the road works being carried to make the highway usable.

“Let me thank President Mnangagwa for coming up with such a brilliant initiative to redo our road. I am happy with the time frames. The contractors have assured me that by the end of 2021 they would have completed 80km each.

“I am also happy with the quality of work they are doing.”
