A TRANSPORTER and his wife were on Thursday attacked by armed robbers and lost a vehicle and US$18 000 in cash in Rushinga.
In a statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi appealed for information that may lead to the arrest of the four suspects.
“Police in Rushinga are investigating a case of robbery which occurred on Thursday at around 0030 hrs at Konje Village.
“Four unidentified suspects who were armed with an unidentified pistol, axe and iron bar, attacked a transport operator and his wife before stealing US$18 091 cash, Toyota Probox vehicle, registration number AEO 3090 and two cellphones,” said Ass-Comm Nyathi.
