Oscar Rusenga in Triangle
Triangle 2-0 FC Platinum
SECOND half goals by Praise Tonha and substitute Tatenda Tsuro were enough to give Triangle maximum points and hand Norman Mapeza his second straight defeat in the Castle Lager Premiership at Gibbo yesterday.
Mapeza was forced to make an early substitution in the 23rd minute when James Marufu was injured and was replaced by Wisdom Mutasa.
Triangle almost got the breakthrough when Qadr Amini was adjudged to have handled Tinei Chitora’s shot by referee Brighton Chimene but Ronald Mudimu failed to convert in the 59th minute.
Triangle recovered four minutes later and got a priceless goal when Tonha benefitted from a defensive mix-up to score his second goal in consecutive matches after also finding the net against Dynamos at the same venue.
Triangle substitutes Brian Juwayeyi and Tatenda Tsuro combined brilliantly in optional time for the second goal.
Juwayeyi raced down the right flank and Tsuro coolly headed at the near post giving Francis Tizayi no chance.
“I am happy the guys did well against a good and experienced Platinum side and the substitute did extremely well and I hope that with the chances we are creating more goals will be coming,” said triangle coach Biggie Zuze.
Mapeza said his charges did not come to the party.
“We did not play well although we had a much improved performance in the last 15 minutes when we brought in Chirwa and Ngoma,” said Mapeza.
“We now need to go back and work hard because we have now lost two games in a row which is unacceptable.”
