Triangle 3-2 Bantu Rovers
Triangle registered a morale boosting 3-2 win over Bantu Rovers in a league match that was played at Gibbo Stadium yesterday.Striker Richard Kawondera scored the much needed winner three minutes before full time to send the home fans into a frenzy.
The home side scored other goals through Blessing Chimwamuchere a few seconds into the match. New signing Graham Ncube scored on his debut in the 29th minute while the visitors scored through Obidiah Tarumbwa in the 15th minute and Dalubuhle Moraka who was turned down by Highlanders after being recommended by respected former UK based football coach Bongani Mafu.
He was on target in the 50th minute.
Triangle head coach Biggie Zuze was worried by his side’s defensive mistakes but was happy with the win.
“I am not happy with the way my defenders concede soft goals. We have been trying to address these defensive blunders but we are continuously conceding soft goals. It was however a good game with a bit of luck because they could have come up with something,” he said.
“I am however happy because we now have a number of options in our defence as our skipper Chastern Ndongonda is recovering and we have got new signing Jimmy Dzingai,” he added.
His counterpart Methembe Ndlovu who watched the first half from the terraces, showered praises on the match officials.
“As coaches we see matches better off in different angles that is why I was in the terraces in the first half. But I am happy with the match officials. They did a good job as we faced challenges with match officials when playing away from home,” he said.
Just a minute into the match referee Brighton Chimene awarded the hosts a freekick just at the edge of the box after defender Brian Juwayeyi fouled Benson Phiri.
