The Eastern Region champions have beefed up their squad by signing on new players, most of whom have Premier League experience.
Some of the players that they already have are Limited Chikafa who was playing for Setheo United last season, Blessing Chimwamuchere, Daniel Kamunhenga and Pardon Chinungwa. On their radar there is former Dynamos attacking rightback David Kutyauripo, former Motor Action middle fielder Clemence Matawu.
The team has reportedly lured the services of former Dynamos shotstopper Gift “Umbro” Muzadzi. Muzadzi would work as goalkeeper’s coach in the new set up and is expected to combine well with the team’s shrewd mentor Gishon Ntini.
Ntini got the nod to continue with the team he took to glory despite numerous applications from some of the sort after coaches who wanted the job.
The sugarcane firm kept faith in Gidza as he is affectionately known in football circles.
Ntini has warned other teams in the PSL saying the Lowveld based team will not be pushovers and would also compete for honours.
“Let it be known by other teams that there is no longer a big or small team these days. We will not be in the topflight league to make up numbers but we will be in the league to compete with the best,” said Ntini.
The former Caps United and Black Rhinos mentor said the team has already started its preparations for the season.
“We have started our preparations in earnest as we want to work on different combinations. I am getting the necessary support from the owners of the team and the situation is conducive for all including the players. We have recruited a number of experienced players and we have managed to keep most of the players that helped the team win the championship,” he said.
