Triathlon Zimbabwe is anticipating a positive turnout for the schools’ series scheduled to get underway next weekend after
receiving an encouraging response.
The national association held an inter-schools competition last season in conjunction with Hellenic Primary School.
For this season, they have a series that will see three different schools playing hosts to the competition.
Abbeys will host the first event on October 27. The second one will be hosted by St John’s on November 24 while St Michael’s
play host to the last event in February next year.
Schools’ Commission representative Tanyaradzwa Kasaira said they would want to build on the positives picked last season.
“We have got a series of meets coming up for the schools with three schools hosting, that’s St Michaels, St John’s and Abbeys
Preparatory School.
“We decided to start with the junior schools.
“So we are trying to start from the grassroots to the elite level. In terms of numbers, I am hoping to see many schools coming
and I believe it’s going to be a success.
“I am hoping for a huge turn-out, the schools’ event last year did very well and I believe it is going to be huge this time around,”
said Kasaira.
