ORGANISERS of Tribal Fusion Nights Vol 1 have promised a cultural spectacle that fuses tradition with modern flair, as they gear up for the inaugural event on June 28 at Sherwood Golf Club in Harare.
Spearheaded by cultural visionary, Takura “Taku-Stylez” Njikizana, the event is designed to promote local talent, preserve Zimbabwe’s rich heritage and blend traditional African rhythms with contemporary styles such as Afro-fusion, jazz, and modern pop.
In an interview with Zimpapers Entertainment Hub, Taku-Stylez said the event is not just a night of music but is a movement aimed at building community and artistic synergy.
“Tribal Fusion Nights will bring together artists and audiences who share a passion for Zimbabwean music and culture. It’s about creating a sense of community and shared purpose,” said Taku-Stylez.
The debut edition has a line-up of some of Zimbabwe’s most dynamic performers, including Sebede and Another Trybe, Fusion 5 Mangwiro, Trubantu Tribe, and Evans Mapfumo with the Kiat Africa Band.
The night will be hosted by DJ Milton “Dee-Knife” Nyabanga and Miracle Mlambo.
Sebede’s award-winning artistry and energy are expected to set the tone, while Fusion 5 Mangwiro’s soulful harmonies and rhythmic appeal will illuminate the night.
Trubantu Tribe is set to immerse audiences in the hypnotic sounds of mbira, offering a raw and authentic connection to Zimbabwean roots.
Meanwhile, Evans Mapfumo and the Kiat Africa Band will light up the stage with their Afrocentric rhythms and live instrumentation.
Taku-Stylez envisions Tribal Fusion Nights becoming a monthly celebration, with plans to take the show on the road across different cities and towns in Zimbabwe.
“With the right sponsorship and support, I aim to make Tribal Fusion Nights a recurring event that rotates venues and artists.
“Our dream is to take this cultural showcase to every corner of Zimbabwe and even beyond,” he said.
